Sculpting Doodles/Digital Sculpting

Sculpting in 3d.I love sculpting, especially in Blender and is an awesome experience if you ask me,but sculpting in Sculptris is totally addictive. When ever I'm in the mood to randomly sketch ideas from my head,I most often start up a session of Sculptris, due to the sculpting algorithm and basic, but intuitive interface,a very basic tool set and a texture painting option,I can start sketching and see the results instantly.Sculptris can also help any artist start off on the right path to a good "character creation" work flow, which allows you to export any Sculptris scene to an "obj." format.Sculptris also comes with tablet support(pen pressure tablet is recommended for best results)options to further your traditional experience.Whether you use your creations or not, this app is still  as fun and as quick as picking up a pencil and paper (as long as you have a traditional art background)to start your sketch, you will see your render results on the fly,as you play with the different tool set(warning:sculptris has limited undo's).All in all,Sculptris satisfies every artist sculpting/sketching needs, whether it be for personal enjoyment or a quick character creation image,Sculptris will not disappoint and you may even have some fun in the process.

Composition Guides in Blender

Composition Guides are now available in blender,a handy tool that has been added to cameras display properties panel. This feature that blender has implemented as of 2.58,has eight types of guides that will help every artist frame a shot.

I have a feeling, the guides will become an invaluable feature in blender, whether using the guides for camera matching, placements of subjects in your scene to provide a more interesting composition or lining up images for reference in modeling, the guides are an excellent addition to blender and are most welcome.

To access the composition guides select the camera and go into camera view by pressing numpad 0,now goto Properties>Object Data[camera icon]>Display>Composition Guides.
